I did a little research here's what I found: The idea of this PRN radio was born back in the mid 50s by a New York based group who acquired a special FM frequency, the purpose was to transmit news, short courses and scientific information to doctors. It was a for profit enterprise that was financed by various Pharmaceutical companies. At one time there were about 75,000 doctors who subscribed to this service thru the late 60s. Actually this radio still does receive the FM signal but now the PRN Network is no longer broadcasting and these Physician Network Radios have now become quite collectable. $42.00. (1020331)
